Sweetheart Cake


Sweetheart Cake is so called Wife Cake in Canton China. How horrible a name! Did some guy make his wife into cake? No no no, it’s said that someone’s wife make this cake to her husband as a gift. (Thanks to RoX菇凉 .)



INGREDIENTS (Water-oiled Crust)



  1. Mix all the ingredients of Custard in a Big Bowl. Then put into the Steamer and turn on it for almost 20 minutes. (Tips: Stir it every 5 minutes till it get solidification)

  2. Mix the ingredients of Water-oiled Crust in a Big Bowl and rounded it into a sphere. Again mix the ingredients of Puff Pastry in a Big Bowl and rounded it into a sphere.

  3. Pack them each by Plastic Wrap and wait for at least 10 minutes.

  4. Splice each of them into 11 pieces and make them into little ball. Then squish the Water-oiled Crust to cover each Puff Pastry ball.

  5. Then squish each of them.

  6. Roll up each pieces.

  7. Then squish each again to repeat STEP 5 and STEP 6 for at least 3 times.

  8. Separate each pieces into two parts. Then squish to cover a little Custard ball.

  10. Give it some scratches and paint with sugar yolk.
